Description Final Assignment Write a short essay (500-700 words) addressing an environmental issue that is controversial or poorly understood. Present scientific information about a controversial or poorly understood environmental issue in a way that is accessible and understandable to the general public. Make a scientific argument that explains the issue, acknowledges any misinformation or controversy about the issue, and gives your reader a scientific basis for understanding or forming an opinion on the issue. Explain how this issue affects your reader, other people, and/or the environment. Cite a minimum of 3 sources in your paper. (See below for requirements and guidance.) Do not quote your references directly. Paraphrase important ideas instead. This means reading a variety of references, deciding what ideas you want to share with your readers, expressing those ideas in your own words in a way that is relevant to your readers, and citing the source of the information. Be sure to list all cited references in your References section at the end of your paper. (Do not include References in word count.) Deadlines There will be a total of 5 deadlines for this project. 4 of them will be graded.
